8 and Under Hockey
Hyland Hills Hockey Association's 8U program is based on USA Hockey's American Development Model where player FUNdamental skill development is the focus.
This program is for players who turn 8 during this calendar year (2016 Birth Year) or younger and have some skating ability.
"The 2024/2025 Season"
The 8U program begins in September with Skills Development and Evaluation Sessions, followed by team placement in October. The season runs through February.
Friendlies (Games)
November 15, 2024 - February 23, 2025
Jag Jam - Presidents' Day Weekend
(Intermediate and Advanced Teams Only)
February 14-16, 2025
Practices & Games
Beginners will have ice twice on the weekends, Intermediate will have ice 3 times a week and Advanced will have ice 4 times a week.
Teams will play a series of Jamborees throughout the season.
Jerseys
Hyland Game Jerseys (Home/White and Away/Black) are loaned to players once they are placed on a team.
Parents are responsible for purchasing a set of game socks (White/Home, Black/Away) which are available at the Ice Centre Pro Shop.
Sports Fee Insurance
Every year we have players that can't finish the season. From injuries, illness, a job loss from a parent, and more: life happens, and this is how to prepare for it.
HHHA has a Zero Refund Policy. Therefore, this season we are giving every parent a chance to insure their commitment to our club by utilizing Registration Insurance. If your athlete can't play - Registration Insurance will reimburse you, and pay what you still owe in club dues.
New this season, you can now add Registration Insurance while registering for the season, no second step required! Once purchased, you will receive your policy information directly from the insurance provider, Vertical Insure. If a covered event occurs, you will file a claim with the insurance provider directly to recoup the funds for your season registration.
This has saved families in the past, and we strongly urge every parent to get covered!
