He then went on to coach for the Wenatchee Wild AAA and the Minnesota Wilderness in the NAHL as an Assistant Coach. Kyle brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge, having spent years coaching at the youth and junior levels.

Kyle's passion for the game of hockey and his commitment to player development make him the perfect addition to our coaching staff. His focus on team culture and individual skill development will ensure that our players have the tools they need to succeed both on and off the ice.

This made for a long travel schedule twice a week for practices and on weekends for games. Garrett spent most of his youth hockey career with Capital Thunder before moving to Golden State Elite, a prestigious program in the Bay Area, during his senior year of high school. This new commitment required a three-hour drive for practices three times a week, with most tournaments out of state. His team was once ranked #2 in the country and even competed in Canada, with a significant achievement being their qualification for the Silver Stick tournament in Sarnia, Ontario.

After his youth hockey career, Garrett attended Arizona State University, where he played for two seasons and competed for a National Championship in his freshman year. He also pursued a bachelor’s degree in public service & public policy. Following college, Garrett returned home for a few years before relocating to Arizona and eventually Colorado to be closer to family and advance his career.

In Colorado, Garrett found an opportunity to reignite his passion for hockey by coaching the younger generation. This will be his third season with the program, having coached Squirt A in his first year as a head coach and Bantam A in the subsequent season. Beyond hockey, Garrett enjoys surrounding himself with family and friends and staying active. He is currently pursuing a career as a fireman and is excited about what the future holds.

He graduated from Babson with a BA in Marketing & Communications and went on to receive an MBA from the University of Colorado.

Matt has 5+ years of coaching experience, having helped back East respectively as a coach with the Buffalo Stars Hockey Club and Can/Am Hockey Group, and locally with the Arvada Hockey Association and Boulder Hockey Club. He most recently served as a head coach with the Hyland Hills PeeWee A team last season. Matt is passionate about the game of hockey and focused on helping players reach the next level in their development, both on and off the ice.

Lance's playing career included travel hockey from Mite A to Midget AA. He achieved success winning International Silversticks and the 2001 State of Michigan and National Championship in Bantam AA. He was drafted into the Juniors, but a broken leg ended his career there.

In 2011, he relocated to Colorado. Since 2019, Lance has been involved with the Hyland Hills program, participating in Junior Jags, 8U, and 10U programs. He has a son, James, who is 10 years old and played Squirt A last year. Lance began coaching at Hyland Hills in 2020. 

"Over the four years with Hyland Hills, I’ve had some great experiences with the kids and have loved watching them develop over the years. My coaching has a big emphasis on skating, which has been engrained from my family history. Both my mom and sister are figure skating instructors in Michigan, and if I didn’t focus on skating, they’d probably fly out to Colorado and come after me. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience being a coach in the Hyland Hills program. I like to coach using the building block techniques, ensuring that the fundamentals the kids develop continually build on each other. I’m a huge advocate of the team game and like watching the wheels turn in the kids heads as they continue to learn the game. My style is a mix of disciplinary and fun. I try to make sure the team has the correct focus and effort levels to get better and enjoys the experience along the way. My main goal for the kids is that they continue to grow their love of the game as they get better each and every year.
